| ORANGE
SKIES
& SPANISH VERSIONS OF ALONE AGAIN
OR
I don't have the recording details of these tracks
in full but here's what I do know. Elizabeth kindly
gave me these songs on cassette a few years ago
and gave permission for me to put clips of them
here for you. Orange Skies is a studio version
that Bryan cut in the same style as Love did it
on Da Capo, so he would have a version where he
sang the lead the way he wanted it to sound. It
sounds great. From the production, I would say
that it was recorded in the late early 90s, but
I'm open to being corrected. From biography page:
"(At the time of his death) His famous song
'Alone Again Or' had been used on a Miller Draft
advert in the U.S. and he'd just recorded a Spanish
language version of the same song for the large
Hispanic audience". It certainly shows what
could have been if the band ever did reform to
play live and record.
The two very interesting versions of Alone Again
Or feature a hispanic artist who's name escapes
me, but it's definitely not Bryan singing, though
Bryan was involved in their recording. I really
like the Mariachi style version, which is a very
refreshing take on the song. Again, anyone with
more info, please email and I'll post details
here.
Enjoy these little jems!
